Description

The church dates to 1908 with the chancel built by Hicks and Charlewood. The nave and tower were added in 1920-22 by Hoare and Wheeler. The image shows the west tower and a partial view of the south side, with the south porch to the right of the tower. The tower has three stages, witha tall west window and small two-light window above. On the third stage are paired belfry openings, and spire pinnacles on each corner of the parapet, with an octagonal spire. Between the tower and porch is a squared three storey stair turret. In the foreground is a two storey building with a canted corner, with a shop on the ground floor with a sign that reads "FOSTERS WINE MERCHANTS", and house with attic room above. Across Jesmond Road is a zebra crossing and pedestrian.
