Description

Fifty sheets of a rectified photographic survey of Chatterley Whitfield Colliery. The survey includes elevations of the Main Office, the Wage Office, the Laboratory, the Mechanical and Electrical Fitter's Shop, the Main Boiler House, the Old Dust Sampling Laboratory, the Pit Head Baths, the Canteen, the Medical Centre, the Rescue Station, the Weigh Bridge and Weigh Plates, the Area Shaft Building, the Old Methane Store, the Institute Winding House, the Walker Fan House and Drift, the Pump House, the Geology Office, the Ken Salt Building, the Underground Experience, the Middle Pit Winding House, the Store Building, the Small Workshop and the Retaining Wall. The survey was conducted between July and December 2000 by The Downland Partnership, on behalf of English Heritage
