Series: Digital Reports Series

Description

A series of 470 Archaeological Diving Unit digital reports, letters and lists of activity covering the years 1986 to 2002. This is not a comprehensive collection of all reports - some are missing and some exist only in print form. For example, there are no digital documents for the year 1987. Other reports within the series are incomplete or just blank templates. The series is sub-divided into annual folders and each folder can include items such as survey reports, letters sent to licensees, annual reports and comments, as well as lists of planned or completed visits. The ADU visited sites across the UK and the series includes reports on wrecks in the waters of all four nations.

The format of the reports changes over the course of the series, however, generally, they all include a history of the site being surveyed, as well as any notable interactions with local divers and/or archaeologists. They also include information on the stability or deterioration of a site, and identify existing and potential threats to the archaeological remains.

Some reports from the years 1997 - 1998 exist in both Microsoft Publisher document format ( .pub) and Microsoft Word 1997 - 2003 format ( .doc), however, but most items within the series exist as .docs only. There is also 1 TIFF and 1 JPEG file included in the series.
