Description

Images from the 2008 publication 'Historic Views of London', by Ann Saunders. The images are all copy negatives selected from the collection of B E C Howarth-Loomes, the originals of which are held by the National Museums Scotland.

Coverage includes the River Thames and its bridges, the City of London, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, churches, palaces, the Crystal Palace, the International Exhibition of 1862, railway stations, statues, parks and gardens.

The book contains three images which have not been catalogued, as the original negatives cannot currently be located in the archive. It is possible that this is due to incorrect or mis-printed numbers being given in the book. The images are: BB68/03038B (on page 33); BB92/03914A (page 133) and BB91/19794 (page 227).
