The series contains photographic negatives and transparencies taken by Christopher Dalton between about 1960 and 2008. Primarily it comprises an estimated 20000 negatives and transparencies showing churches. In addition, there are 443 negatives showing houses designed by Edwin Lutyens, and railway stations; and 12 negatives showing Chevening House, Kent. The negatives are primarily black and white but the transparencies and a small proportion of the negatives are colour. A list follows:
