This series contains black and white and colour negatives relating to ceremonial events in the UK. Subjects include: state visits, funerals, royal weddings, coronations, investitures, jubilees, official displays, victory day celebrations, openings, meetings, conferences and agency staff presentations. There are images of preparations for the weddings of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne. There are images of the lying in state of King George VI, Queen Mary and Sir Winston Churchill. Before 1970, coverage is primarily of flags, stands and decorations erected, particularly at Westminster Abbey. After 1970, coverage primarily relates to meetings, openings, unveilings, conferences and staff presentations.

Some of the negatives show artworks and have probably been incorrectly filed into this series. Examples include C4, C34 and C37.
