An earthwork survey of the abbey parkland was undertaken by EH Swindon office in late summer/autumn 2001 in response to a request from EH South-East Regional Office. The primary objective of the survey was to investigate the parkland, including areas beyond the normal tourist "battlefield perambulation", in order to provide additional insights into this unique landscape and to provide data to inform its future management.
