Description

In October 2000 English Heritage staff from the Cambridge office carried out a survey and analysis of archaeological remains on the foreshore at Coalhouse Point, some 600m south of Coalhouse Fort.

The survey was requested by Deborah Priddy, EH Inspector for the East of England Region, following the observation of fragments of stonework on the mudflats of the River Thames, which were thought possibly to mark the location of a documented Herician artillery blockhouse.
