The report is a desk-based study of the landscape development of five of the six islands forming the Foulness archipelego, and focuses on the area of the area of the Shoeburyness Range owned by the Ministry of Defence.
The study was undertaken as part of a Heritage Protection pilot project, one of fifteen undertaken across the country by English Heritage which trialed new proposals for Heritage Proection legislation and reform.
