Description
The archive relates to a survey of medieval/post-medieval earthworks, completed in May 1986 and revised in May 1989, by the RCHME Exeter and Salisbury offices for Berkshire County Council. The sites involved lie in the parish of Hamstead Marshall in Newbury district; two mottes in North Lodge garden; Park Pale, North Lodge; the former mansion and gardens, and the castle in the north-east corner of Hamstead Park.
