Description

The York office undertook a large scale survey of a quern manufacturing site during October and November 1999 at the request of and partly funded by English Heritage, Forest Enterprise and Sheffield Wildlife Action Partnership primarily to assist with the management of the site. The request arose following an accidental heath fire in 1996 which destroyed the vegetation cover leaving many of the quern rough-outs exposed.
