Description

Between late July and early August 2001 the York office carried out an archaeological investigation of an Iron Age promontory fort in partnership with the North York Moors National Park Authority following a request from their Archaeological Conservation Officer. The research was carried out in advance of the completion of a footpath across the southern end of the site in order to establish the likely date of some of the earthworks impinged upon by the footpath.
