Between December 1999 and January 2000 the York office carried out a survey as part of the Northumberland National Park Authority's project entitled 'Discovering our hillfort heritage'. The earthwork survey was one of a number intended to improve understanding of the archaeological remains and to inform the conservation and management of supposed Iron Age hillforts within the National Park.
