An album of 47 pages containing 149 archive items. The contents are mixed, consisting mostly of cuttings (textual and illustrations), postcards and photographs with some prints, engravings and photocopies
The majority of the items are views of the Abbey, including interior, exterior and detail views. There is also a large set of items on St Marys Church in Whitby and a few of other monuments in the town and general views. A set of eight postcards at the back show social scenes of women knitting and fisherman.
The suggested dates for the items cover the range 1711 - 1980 with the majority dating from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries
