Description

Album number 10 in the Bedford Lemere collection containing photographs of exteriors of various buildings, including restaurants, commercial offices, vicarages, country houses, villas, terraces, streets, a tavern, a hospital, London Board Schools and other schools, hotels, warehouses, a town hall, stables, a lych gate and shops.

The prints are mainly of London (the City and Greater London) as well as Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Wokingham, Wadhurst, Mentmore, Hampton Court, County Durham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The album contains 106 pages and 98 prints. The prints have been cross-references to the original negatives or copy negatives where possible, although the vast majority of original negatives have been destroyed.

Item numbers AL0470/048/01 and AL0470/094/01 are particularly interesting since they show workers of a London warehouse posing for the camera amongst the barrels and transport of their work. A number of other prints in the album also contain people and horse-drawn vehicles.
