Bedford Lemere album containing 62 pages and 63 prints. The album features predominantly interior views but also contains a small number of exteriors and a short run of displays of furniture. The first site dealt with in the album is Chesterfield House, Mayfair (AL0484/001/01 - AL0484/018/01). The site is recorded in one exterior and 17 interior views. These photographs were taken by Bedford Lemere and Company and some are duplicated in album AL0461. The prints are also available in the Open Access Red Box Collection at the NMR. There follows a miscellaneous group of photographs including details of panelling, plaster ceilings and fireplace at unidentified location/s, a view of the interior of the chapel at Chateau de Versailles and two detailed views of Louis XVI furnishings. Photographer unknown. Knole house is recorded in 20 photographs (1 exterior and 19 interior views AL0484/029/01 - AL0484/049/01). This group of photographs are recorded in the Bedford Lemere daybooks but were taken by C Essenhigh Corke of Sevenoaks. There is also a series of 8 interior views of Crewe Hall, Cheshire (AL0484/050/01 - AL0484/057/01) which are not referenced in the daybooks. The photographer for these views is unknown. Towards the end of the album is a photograph of Philiphaugh, Scotland photographed by George Washington Wilson and a group of views showing pieces of furniture with descriptive text beneath. The photographer for these is unknown.
The album is a collection of material by Bedford Lemere and Company and other photographers (known and unknown) and may have been compiled for personal rather professional interest.
