Description

The hospital opened in 1777 as the 'York Lunatic Asylum', or the 'County Lunatic Asylum, York'. Funds for its construction were raised through public subscription. In 1904 it became Bootham Park, also known as 'Bootham Park Mental Hospital', and later Bootham Park Hospital. The hospital closed in 2015.
