Description

Tue Brook Villa was established in 1839. It operated as a ‘private asylum for the treatment and care of insane cases occurring in the middle and upper classes’ (The Nursing Record, p93, 7 February 1889). It was later re-classified as a ‘private mental hospital’. The house was demolished at some point between 1927 and 1937, and the site was redeveloped for housing.
