Description

4 Church Road was formerly a part of the 'Royal Birmingham School for Deaf Children'. It was closed in circa 1984. The school opened as the 'General Institution for Deaf and Dumb Children' in around 1815. By 1904 it was known as the 'Royal Institution for Deaf and Dumb Children', before becoming the 'Royal School for the Deaf' by 1938.
