Description

A file of material created by the English Heritage Scientific Dating Team containing correspondence, structural plans and notes relating to the radiocarbon and dendrochronological dating of Aydon Castle, Northumberland. The file details the sample as being taken from a lintel in the curtain wall. The Castle itself is a Medieval fortified manor which includes a variety of upstanding domestic, ancillary and defensive buildings arranged within three courtyards surrounded by the curtain wall.
