Description

A file of material created by the English Heritage Scientific Dating team consisting of correspondence, notes, radiocarbon dating sample details, radiocarbon dating certificates and results relating to an Early Medieval cemetery at Castledyke South, Barton-on Humber. The site was first discovered in 1939 when the construction of air raid shelters disturbed the burial ground. The file details the samples submitted for radiocarbon dating are from the long bones of 4 inhumations and also cremation burials.
