Description

A file of material created by the English Heritage Scientific Dating Team containing correspondence, an application for dendrochronology and 4 plan drawings of the tithe barn relating to the application for dendrochronology for timbers from Ashelworth Tithe Barn, Gloucestershire. The barn was constructed in approximately 1500, with alterations occurring in the 19th century. Samples were submitted to determine whether the roof, which is stylistically different to the Medieval period, is original or later. This was in order to aid conservation and repair work.
