Description

A virtual file of 11 photographs relating to AFC Bournemouth. The club was formed in 1899 as Boscombe Football Club and later became known as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic Football Club. They became AFC Bournemouth in 1971. Although commonly referred to simply as Bournemouth, the club should not be confused with Bournemouth Football Club (formed in 1875 as Bournemouth Rovers). AFC Bournemouth are known as 'The Cherries', while Bournemouth Football Club are known as 'The Poppies' or 'Bournemouth Poppies'. Since 1910, AFC Bournemouth's home ground since 1910 has been Dean Court.
