A virtual file of 15 photographs relating to Manchester United Football Club. The club was founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, with 'LYR' standing for 'Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway'. It became Manchester United in 1902. The club initially played at North Road (1878-1893), and then Bank Street (1893-1910). In 1910, the club moved to a new stadium, designed by Archibald Leitch, at Old Trafford.
