Description

A virtual file of 8 photographs relating to Nottingham Forest Football Club. The club was founded in 1865. Initially Nottingham Forest played at the Forest Recreation Ground, from which the club's name is derived. Between 1879 and 1890, the club moved between several grounds: the Meadows (later known as the Queen's Walk Recreation Ground) (1879-1880), Trent Bridge (1880-1882), and Parkside (1882-1885) and the Gregory Ground (1885-1890), both in Lenton. In 1890 the club moved to Woodward's Field near Trent Bridge. This was renamed the Town Ground. In 1898 Nottingham Forest began playing at the City Ground in West Bridgford. This remained their home ground into the 21st century.
