Description

A virtual file of 14 photographs relating to Notts County Football Club. The club was formally founded in 1864, although the founding members began playing casually in 1862. Initially the founding members played at Park Hollow (the site of The Park estate) and then the Meadows Cricket Ground, where the club remained until 1877. Between 1877 and 1880, the club moved between the Gentlemen of Nottinghamshire Cricket Club's Ground at Beeston, the Meadows Cricket Ground, and Trent Bridge, before relocating to the Castle Cricket Ground in 1880. In 1883 Notts County moved to Trent Bridge, after Nottingham Forest had left (having played at the ground between 1880 and 1882). Notts County moved to a new ground at Meadow Lane in 1910. This remained as the club's home ground into the 21st century.
