Description

A file containing four photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store at 84-90 King Street, Hammersmith. Known as Woolworths store number 41, this was the forty-first branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in October 1914. The store originally occupied a small building at 84 King Street, but in the 1920s the adjoining buildings were purchased, and a new, larger store was built, occupying 84-90 King Street. The store closed in 1982. The file contains photographs showing the store before and after bomb damage in 1941.
