A file containing 15 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on the High Street, Watford. Known as Woolworths store number 68, this was the sixty-eighth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles. The store originally opened at 124 High Street in 1916. Over the decades the store expanded, eventually reaching the corner of King Street. In the 1980s the a new modern Woolworths store was built on the site. Less than 10 years later it closed and Watford remained without a Woolworths until a new branch near Clarendon Road opened in 2000.
