Description

A file containing 44 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on Hamilton Street, Greenock. Known as Woolworths store number 96, this was the ninety-sixth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles. The store originally opened at 75-77 Hamilton Street. It remained there until 1975 when the area around Hamilton Street was redeveloped and pedestrianised after which the branch re-opened at 41 Hamilton Way. It closed for good after the company went into administration in 1984.
