Description

A file containing 2 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store at Kingsland High Street, Dalston, London. Known as Woolworths store number 102, this was the one-hundred and second branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles. The store originally opened in 1921 at numbers 64-66 Kingsland High Street. In the late 1960s the store moved to premises at numbers 36-40. The company created a purpose built unit here, having demolished the former theatrical store which had occupied the site. This branch was still trading in the 1980s but the final closure date is unknown.
