Description

A file containing eleven photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store at 301-302 High Street, Lincoln. Known as Woolworths store number 156, this was the 156th branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1924. The original store was extended in the 1930s, and the facade was timbered in mock Tudor style. In 1989 the site was redeveloped to create the Waterside Shopping Centre, and this branch of Woolworths closed. A new store was opened in the shopping centre, known as store number 1171.
