Description

A file containing 5 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co Store in High Wycombe. Known as Woolworths store number 214, this was the two-hundred and fourteenth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1926. The store originally opened at 5-6 Queens Square. In 1969 Woolworths acquired the Red Lion Hotel on the High Street. The hotel was demolished though the original facade and Red Lion statue was retained. The new store opened in around 1970-71.
