Description

A file containing 17 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store in Loughborough. Known as Woolworths store number 226, this was the two-hundred and twenty-sixth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1926. The store opened originally at 2 Market Place and in 1959 moved to a purpose-built store at 39-40 Market Place. In 2004 the store closed and moved to The Rushes Shopping Centre as a 'Big W' store (Woolworths store number 1254).
