Description

A file containing 60 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store in Whitehaven, Cumbria. Known as Woolworths store number 253, this was the two-hundred and fifty-third branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. The store originally opened at 27 King Street; it moved to 35-36 King Street and was later enlarged. Woolworths closed in December 2008.
