Description

A file containing 1 photograph depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on the High Street, Slough. Known as Woolworths store number 263, this was the two-hundred and sixty-third branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. The store opened at 138-140 High Street, which was renumbered as 190-192 High Street at some point between 1956 and 1967. The High Street store closed in 1984. In the 1990s Woolworths opened store 1173 in The Observatory shopping centre; the store moved to Queensmere Shopping Centre in 2000, as store 1243.
