Description

A file containing 5 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on New Street, Birmingham. Known as Woolworths store number 266, this was the two-hundred and sixty-sixth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. Woolworths originally opened at 61-65 New Street. The store suffered bomb damage in the Second World War and in 1956 Woolworths relocated to the site of the Theatre Royal, at 103-104 New Street.
