Description

A file containing 25 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on Shields Road, Byker. Known as Woolworths store number 276, this was the two-hundred and seventy-sixth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. The store originally opened at 47-49 Shields Road (later renumbered as 45), but in 1955 moved to bigger premises at 63 Shields Road. The store closed in the mid 1980s.
