Description

A file containing 13 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on the High Road, Wembley. Known as Woolworths store number 286, this was the two-hundred and eighty-sixth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. The original store occupied the site later numbered 439-441 High Street (it was probably originally numbered 83-85 High Street). Woolworths later expanded the store to become 435-441 High Street. The store was renumbered 2027 in the 2000s.
