Description

A file containing 18 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on London Road, Brighton. Known as Woolworths store number 288, this was the two-hundred and eighty-eighth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. The store originally opened at 1-2 London Road, on the corner with Cheapside. In 1965 Woolworths moved to 27-31 London Road, part of which was the former premises of Roslings department store. The Woolworths store closed in December 2008.
