Description

A file containing 3 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store in Front Street, Arnold. The store opened in 1965 and was assigned the store number of the former Elephant and Castle store, store 313, which had been destroyed by bombing in the Second World War. The Arnold store originally opened on the site of the former Empress Ballroom or Empress Theatre at 72 Front Street (demolished 1956), before moving to 79 Front Street. The store closed in 1995.
