Description

A file containing 22 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on the High Street, Andover. Known as Woolworths store number 405, this was the four-hundred and fifth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1930. The store was extended into number 17 in 1972, with the architecture of both the original Woolworth's and Burton's being demolished to make way for the new store. It was later further extended into number 19 High Street. The store closed in January 2009.
