Description

A file containing 4 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on the High Street, Alton. Known as Woolworths store number 497, this was the four-hundred and ninety-seventh branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1933. Woolworths originally opened at 58 High Street. In the 1970s the store was moved to bigger premises at 65-67 High Street.
