Description

A file containing 3 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store in Solihull. Known as Woolworths store number 525, this was the five-hundred and twenty-fifth branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1933. Woolworths originally opened in a purpose-built store at 57 High Street, but in the 1960s moved to the redeveloped Mill Lane, opening at 25-29 Mill Lane. The store was later reduced to 27-29 Mill Lane as part of the premises became a separate unit, initially occupied by a Superdrug store. Solihull Woolworths closed in December 2008.
