Description

Three reconstruction illustrations depicting Byland Abbey and its component structures, created between 1961 and 1990. There is one reconstruction created in 1961 by Alan Sorrell, which gives an aerial view of the site as it may have appeared before its suppression. There are two reconstruction illustrations by Simon Hayfield, each published in the 1990, 1995 and 1999 English Heritage guidebooks for the site.
