Description

Seven reconstruction illustrations, one orientation illustration and one general illustration depicting Kirkham Priory and its component structures, created between circa 1958 and circa 2005 by various illustrators and likely to have been created largely for publication on information panels at the site.

The set includes one reconstruction of the Prior's Hall and Infirmiary created in 1989 by Terry Ball, and six reconstructions by Peter Dunn showing interior details and exterior views of the site and an orientation view of the site in the present day, all dating to around 2003. There is a further painting that has been attributed to the artist Alan Sorrell, showing a detail view of sculptural elements on the priory gatehouse and likely to date to around 1960.
