Description

FIve illustrations created by Ivan Lapper between circa 1990 and circa 2000, depicting various subjects and historic personages, including the mask of Tutankhamun and an Egyptian temple/ palace, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and the Space Shuttle Discovery, a Norman soldier and a medieval castle, King Henry VIII of England and Hampton Court Palace, and as-yet unidentified Greek warrior/ statesman and the Acropolis of Athens.

It is unclear at present why the illustrations in this folder were commissioned. However, the similar dimensions, style, layout and mounting of the paintings suggests that they could have been part of an exhibition or display of some kind.
