Description

Four cut-away illustrations of two factories in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter created by Tony Berry for 'The Birmingham Jewellery Quarter: An Architectural Survey of the Manufactories' by John Cattell, Sheila Ely and Barry Jones (2002). One is intended as a representative example of a late 19th century jewellery factory in the Quarter, whilst the other shows the premises of the Newman Brothers' coffin furniture factory on Fleet Street as it may have appeared shortly after construction in 1892.

IC298/002 and IC298/004 are the original ink drawings from which IC298/001 and IC298/003 are produced.
