Description

Photograph album, labelled, 'Cathedrals: Coventry, Vol. 2', containing 75 prints showing the construction of Coventry Cathedral. Included are oblique aerial and general views showing progress of work as well as details of wall construction, baptistery window and masons at work. In addition there are images of mottled Hollington stone being mined at Park Quarry, Greatgate and prepared at Rocester Masonry Works and photographs documenting the visits of Princess Margaret on 6 June 1957 and Duchess of Kent on 27 March 1958, the signing of the contract for the nave on 13 December 1956, and photographic copies of architectural drawings and model of the Cathedral.
