Photograph album labelled 'Factories' containing 104 images of various factories built by John Laing and Son Ltd. In the 1930s the firm built 900 houses and 80 shops and factories on their Harland Estate at Honeypot Lane in Stanmore and Queensbury. Images of the Harland Estate factories include general exterior views of Price & Co (Bakers) Ltd, Spiral Tube, Brookside Metal, interior views of Apex Vactric factory designed by architects, Lander, Bedells and Compton, Queensbury Engineering Co., Stanmore Engineering Co., Acorn Products Ltd, Scot Insulated Wire, Kayes Rotaprint Factory, Zenith Carburetter Factory showing interior and people at work, Hendon Laundry, Gee Tee Co., Peerless Electrical Manufacturing Co., Kay (Sports and Games) Ltd and the Mayfair Carriage Company. Also included is a view of Carr and Co. Ltd, Biscuit Manufacturers, Carlisle and photographs of warehouses for A.W. Gamages Ltd at Waterloo Road and Coles Green Road, Cricklewood, Independent Milk Supplies Ltd, Marylebone and an unnamed factory at Kingston Bypass. The album also contains a folded ground plan for the Handley Page Factory in Cricklewood.
