Description

Photograph album labelled 'Foundries' containing 42 black and white prints showing the completed Thames foundry built for Ford Motor Company Ltd, Dagenham. Included are aerial shots of completed building and interior details showing operator's panel, patient being examined in medical centre, pouring lines, dust collecting unit, fettling area, core making and moulding lines and views of workers operating machinery.

The foundry opened in 1957 and cost £7.5 million. It closed in 1984.
